Ian Rocca, born in Livigno in 1997, is a great freestyle ski athlete who has given a lot in terms of sporting results (he won the Slopestyle European Cup in 2018: a European circuit including about ten stages). Super helpful and very talented boy, he is an athlete who has always been supported by Livigno. He is now on the Board of Directors of Mottolino Livigno with responsibility for the Olympics (his family is personally contributing to the success of Mottolino). He started skiing at a very young age, like many in Livigno, in classic alpine skiing. But he soon realized he wanted to freestyle, despite initially seeing such athletes as "the ones to avoid", "the bad guys".
Entering freestyle I understood how every trick, every jump, is prepared to perfection. Nothing is left to chance even if the risks, of course, are high for certain types of tricks – Ian Rocca

After the 2018 European Cup, he entered the national team but an ankle injury kept him out for a long time and then the covid arrived. So many bad situations, one after the other, that blocked Ian: both physically and mentally. Currently he has temporarily put aside the competitive spirit of skiing but you can still see the spark in his eyes: let's see what the future holds for him. He is continuing to train, remains in the environment and wants to introduce freestyle skiing to as many people as possible through his Youtube channel.
Surely the worst period of my life is the ankle injury that blocked me after the splendid year of the European Cup... no wait, or maybe the Lockdown stop? – Ian Rocca

NEW LIVIGNO HEADQUARTERS
He has a great passion for sports: in addition to being an excellent biker, he has embarked on a new adventure with engines alongside Alberto Naska, a well-known YouTuber and pilot. Indeed Ian is racing with the Legend cars in the Italian championship alongside Alberto Naska and in the Heroes Valley team: Mitjet Italia with the GRT Motorsport team.
Livigno taught me how to drive on ice, let's see if it has given me the sensitivity to go fast on the track too! – Ian Rocca

He doesn't lack adrenaline in his blood since he is attracted by everything that has adrenaline. His future is in sport with various commitments, no longer exclusively in freeskiing: he is working with Atomic for the development of skis and boots that will be marketed in the next few years. He still considers freeskiing a niche sport and would like to help it spread further, also taking into account the opportunity offered by the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina of 2026 given that Livigno will be the location for the freestyle disciplines, both for skiing and snowboarding: a unique opportunity!
