We were able to spend a beautiful day on a mountain bike full of fun and pure and healthy "testing" of the Dainese helmet line and more.
The 01 Mips line defines itself as the lightest full-face mtb helmet in the world: I don't know the weight per gram of all the helmets on the market but one thing is certain ... I have never worn a full face so light!
TECHNICAL FEATURES
Il Outer shell of Linea 01 Mips (integral) it is in polycarbonate, while the inner shell is in dual density EPS, mapped on the base of the areas of the skull, which need more protection. Drowned in the inner shell, inside the EPS chin guard, and along the entire part of the cheeks, an auxetic nylon exoskeleton has been created that gives the helmet maximum strength and rigidity.
Both the integral and the open use the proven Mips® system to protect the rider from trauma resulting from rotational impacts. To guarantee maximum safety, the Linea 01 helmet exceeds all international protection standards for the category, even those necessary to participate in DH competitions and the stringent New Zealand and Australian certifications: CPSC 1203, CE EN1078, ASTM F1952-DH, ASTM 2032 -BMX, AS / NZ 2063.
In the open model (Line 03) there are 17 vents, distributed along the entire surface, which allow the helmet to be incredibly breathable and at the same time imperceptible on the head, thanks to its 370 grams of weight in size M. It features the magnetic Fidlock closure.
Excellent being able to adjust to 3 different heights the rear closure of the helmet, which also adapts well to the tail or collected hair. Naturally, this last piece of information was given to me by Dainese because I have not yet reached a length to collect my hair.
Line 03 exceeds many standards regarding protection: CPSC 1203, CE EN1078, AS / NZ 2063.
Both on the integral and on the open, we find the NFC sensor incorporated, capable of hosting all the important personal information inside the helmet, and reducing the intervention time of rescue in the event of an accident. In fact, NFC technology is able to insert the basic data of the biker into the helmet so that they can be read by rescuers via a simple smartphone. Recco technology allows you to be easily found by the radar systems of the rescue teams. Both systems work without power so they are always active.
LINE 01
The wide field of view is a great look in an integral: how many times do we feel "suffocated" in sight? Well, we don't have any visual problems here. The front panel is flexible and adjustable in two positions, while the closure is magnetic with the Fidlock system.
The 29 air intakes, distributed along the entire surface of the helmet - 8 on the chin guard, 5 in the front area, 2 near the ears, 4 longitudinal + 10 for the air outlet in the back - allow the helmet to be incredibly breathable and at the same time imperceptible on the head, thanks to the record weight: only 570 grams in size M.
One thing is certain: this full-face helmet is disarmingly comfortable and fresh. I have always been an admirer of the open helmet but it must be said that now, given the little extra hindrance, why not put it closed in certain situations?
