We met her a few months ago, at the beginning of this season, entitled the interview “the year of redemption”. We can say that we brought her luck, given the result of the last Italian.
We wanted to 'steal' a short comment from her at the end of the race, here are her words:
" I had a bit of a subdued start to the season. Fortunately I didn't give up and thanks to this I was able to notice a continuous growth in my form. Especially in the last month I have seen an excellent change of pace which has allowed me to arrive at the day of the Italian knowing that I have a good leg and good cards to play.
This victory surprised many who didn't take me for granted, but in my heart I knew I was capable of fighting on equal terms with the others. This belief allowed me to set off without fear and to make a difference from the first ascent, a fact which gave me a great psychological advantage. In fact, running in the lead is not like chasing and in the end crossing the finish line first was an immense joy. This is also because last year I had a lot of bad luck, both due to the knee injury that slowed down my preparation, and the mechanical problem that occurred while I was leading the Italian championship. Now the season is in full swing and I hope to be able to honor this shirt with excellent results at a national but above all international level"
