This historic race will see the world's fastest enduro racers descend on Maydena Bike Park, located in the forests of Tasmania's Derwent Valley. New rules coming to Enduro: it will no longer be based on time but based on points! Scroll the article to examine it in detail.
Maydena is the first venue to host a UCI Enduro World Cup. Stay connected to 365mountainbike to follow the updates of the race and the results but here is some information to be autonomous and to be "in shape" in any FANTAmtb.

NEW SCORING RULES
After 10 years of EWS racing, this year will see a big change in EDR World Cup racing. The first change is that the races will take place in one day and no longer in 2. And the scoring system will become a bit more complex and hopefully it won't complicate things further.
The winner of the stage will always be the rider who will take the least time in all the stages, no difference. However, for the individual stages, there will be extra points, which will reward any exploits by athletes who are not of the highest order. Here they are below.
While here are the scores for the general classification of the stage.
In summary: a stage victory will award 20 extra points to both men and women, which will naturally be added to any points acquired at the end of the day in the general classification. The new extra points for single stages will extend up to 5th position, where XNUMX extra points will be awarded.
Fewer points up for grabs for U21 riders but the same award criterion. As a reminder, the winner of each round will still be decided based on overall time, no change.

LIST OF ENROLLMENTS
CLICK HERE to download the complete subscriber list. Arrived in extremis a few days before departure, let's see the various faces of enduro, which we had already analyzed in this one LIVE on FANTAmtb channels.
FAVORITES
The trio of wonders Rude, Melamed and Moir are present, with Martin Maes who we rightfully insert among the favourites: this year we see him motivated and in good shape. Behind many athletes ready to take advantage of the mistakes of these 4 athletes, like Edward Masters who runs at home. Outsider: Troy Brosnan (Canyon), with number 33, and attention to Luke Meier Smith (Giant), number 25. Jack Menzies (Poligon), number 31, is a young athlete of the highest quality.
Among women, the favorite Isabeau Courdurier (Lapierre) winner in 2022, but watch out for Harriet Harnden (Trek), young and growing. Outsider Valentina Holl: If she finds the rhythm she has in her DH she's a tough nut to crack.
Here the roll of honor of the EWS to consult the latest arrival orders. Small note: you have lined up the formation for the FANTAmtb? At 23.59 pm on Friday 24 March the possibility of deploying one's formation for the 1st event scheduled in Tasmania will close.
ITALIANS PRESENT
There will be 4 Italians present, namely Tommaso Francardo (number 75, Abetone Ancillotti Vittoria Factory Team), Mirco Vendemmia (number 61, Fulgur Racing Team), Gloria Scarsi (number 37, Canyon Collective) and Sophie Riva (number 153, Sunn French Connection Racing). We are awaiting the official program and the definitive entry list.
WHERE TO SEE LIVE
There isn't a lot of information and this was a bit of a disappointment after the announcements with Eurosport. But we knew that enduro is a difficult sport to follow but we remain confident waiting for the 1st test before making judgments, knowing that we can always improve during the year.
You will be able to see Highlights and many summary videos on the official YouTube channel of UCI MTB World Series while on Eurosport you will be able to see very accurate deferred matches. For LIVE TIMING, keep an eye on the official website UCI MTB World Series: a reference will be uploaded to the Home Page on the day of the race.
EYE TO THE TIME ZONE (GMT+11)
The race will start at 9:00 local time in Tasmania on Sunday 26 March (it means that here in Italy it will be 23pm!). Highlights should be posted on the UCI Mtb World Series YouTube channel.
