The 2003 Mountain Bike World Cup organized by the International Cycling Union (UCI) is contested in three disciplines: cross country, downhill and four-cross, with five stages for each discipline, after the defection of the US resort of Telluride, which was supposed to host the fourth stage of the cup for all three disciplines on 5 and 6 July. The four-cross was decided in just four races, due to heavy rain which led to the cancellation of the last stage, in Kaprun.
Beautiful victory for Nathan Rennie who wins the Alpe d'Huez race and the final cup ranking. In the women's field, after many placings, Sabrina Jonnier puts an end to Chausson's consecutive victories.
