31/4 September 2011 – Another great performance for the new world mountain bike star, namely Jaroslav Kulhavy who during the last 2 laps leaves the place Nino Schurter, absolute protagonist up to that moment. The race was very close with a group of 6 attackers who immediately took off during the 1st lap: Schurter and Vogel (Switzerland), Absalon and Marotte (France), Kulhavy (Czech Republic) ed Hermida (Spain). Until halfway through the race the group proceeds compactly Nino Schurter who tries to put his opponents in difficulty in the more technical sections and the first to suffer are Marotte and Vogel who break away.

With 3 laps to go, 3 go away again under the pressure of the Swiss Schurter, namely Kulhavy and Hermida, with Absalon still a few seconds away who continues with his regular action hoping that someone in front will give in. The Spanish champion seems to be doing well, in fact he always stays in 3rd position but bad luck strikes him and he is forced to stop due to a puncture.

There are 2 of them up front but once again, as has happened many times this year, Kuylhavy accelerates and Schurter is unable to respond. In the last one it's a catwalk for the Czech runner who, after the world cup, also wins the world championship. Second place for Schurter and third for Julien Absalon. Fourth was Hermida who, without that puncture, would have been able to fight for a place on the podium. Excellent 5th place for Lukas Fluckiger.

Among the women, a great performance by the Canadian Catharine Pendrel who had no rivals also due to the bad luck suffered by the Polish Maja Wloszczowska who lost about a minute during the 2nd lap due to a puncture when she was leading together with the Canadian. Ready to go and a duo made up of Catharine Pendrel and the Polish Wloszczowska is in the lead. Behind battle betweenEve Lechner, Irina Kalentieva and Gunn Rita Dahle for a place on the podium.

As mentioned, during the 2nd lap the twist that decides the race occurs, that is the puncture of the Polish athlete who has to continue running up to the technical area. At the same time there is also a problem for the Russian Kalentieva who finds herself starting from the technical area together with Wloszczowska in 5th and 6th position respectively. The Canadian Pendrel, meanwhile, continues her ride and during the 3rd lap she finds herself in command with about a minute ahead of the Italian Eva Lechner and the Wlosczcowska who begins a good comeback. Meanwhile, the Russian Kalentieva follows a short distance away with Gunn Rita Dahle in 5th position.

The positions remain unchanged until the last lap when Wloszczowska attacks decisively up the climb and overtakes the Italian Eva Lechner. Upon arrival there is a big celebration for Catharine Pendrel with her 1st career world title, the Polish woman in 2nd place Maja Wlosczcowska and 3rd Eva Lechner. The Russian Kalentieva placed 4th while the Swiss Schneitter came in 5th, author of a good final lap against Dahle.
