The 2014 World Cup saw 7 Cross Country events with the victory in the men's field of Julien Absalon, who returns victorious at 34 years of age after a 4-year break from 1st place overall. Behind him his long-time rival Nino Schurter and Daniel McConnel, who repeats his excellent performance from 2013.
In the women's field, the young 21-year-old Jolanda Neff comes to the fore, winning her first world cup among the elite. The experts Catharine Pendrel and Tanja Zakelj, winner in 2013, can do nothing.
