The 2005 Mountain Bike World Cup organized by the International Cycling Union (UCI) is contested in four disciplines: cross country, downhill, four-cross and, in a separate circuit, marathon. All disciplines competed in 8 stages.
World Cup to Christoph Sauser who beats Josè Hermida and the very favorite Julien Absalon. Marco Bui's victory in Houffalize was beautiful, in one of the main circuits of the circuis. In the women there is no story: Gunn Rita Dahle dictates the law and wins 6 out of 8 races. Behind her are the experts Sabine Spitz and Marie Helene Premont.
