The 2003 Mountain Bike World Cup organized by the International Cycling Union (UCI) is contested in three disciplines: cross country, downhill and four-cross, with five stages for each discipline, after the defection of the US resort of Telluride, which was supposed to host the fourth stage of the cup for all three disciplines on 5 and 6 July. The four-cross was decided in just four races, due to heavy rain which led to the cancellation of the last stage, in Kaprun.
Victory in the general for Christoph Sauser ahead of the very young Julien Absalon, able to conquer a beautiful podium in his 1st year as an Elite. 3rd Lado Fumic. In the women's field, Gunn Rita Dahle dominates the World Cup ahead of the expert Sabine Spitz and Irina Kalentieva.
