At the 2024 Paris Olympics, BMX Racing offered two top-level races on the technical, fast and selective Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines track.
In the Elite Men's race, Joris Daudet won gold in front of his home crowd with a veteran-like final. A clean start, precise lines, and zero errors at key points: a controlled race from start to finish. Behind him, a historic French hat-trick was completed, with Sylvain André taking silver and Romain Mahieu bronze, confirming the French dominance of world BMX. Italian Marco Bertagnoli also put in a strong performance, finishing ninth overall, the first of those excluded from the final. This result is of great technical value: Bertagnoli demonstrated solidity, speed, and maturity, confirming his competitiveness at the highest levels.
In the Elite Women's race, Saya Sakakibara imposed her authority with a commanding performance. An explosive start from the gate, total control of the track, and perfect handling of the Olympic pressure. The Australian took the lead immediately, maintaining a clear lead until the finish line. Behind her, Manon Veenstra took silver with a solid performance, while Zoé Claessens rounded out the podium. A flawless final for Sakakibara, who confirmed her status as the absolute benchmark in women's BMX worldwide.
