Burry Stander (16 September 1987 – 3 January 2013), winner of the 2009 World Cup and U23 World Championship. In 2010, in the 1st year in the Elite category, he was able to place 3rd place at the world championship. In 2011 and 2012 Stander won the Cape Epic paired with Christoph Sauser. He died at the height of his career due to a car accident while training on a bicycle.
