Marco Bui (born in Mestre on 17 October 1977). A promising young player in Italian off-road cycling, he won the U23 world championship in 1999, beating a certain Cadel Evans (3rd Martino Fruet). In 2001 he already managed to excel among the Elite by winning the TT World Cup (time trial, it was the first and last edition). But bad luck was just around the corner and in 2005, after a terrible motorbike accident, he risked having his leg amputated but despite everything he managed to return to the world of racing even if he would no longer be able to reap his great previous results.
